Trailer Analysis By Sital, Kevin and Sonam

Jennifer's Body Still

There is use of backing light in this still to project the shadow of Jennifer’s transformation into her demon side. This create an intense atmosphere for the target audience as we do not directly see her physical changes. Also the colours used red and black relate to the whole sense of demon furthermore it connotes danger and evilness. The red represents blood and connotes that something bad is going to happen.  It is conventional in the theme horror or thriller for there to be mystery created. So we would need to look into creating a scene like this as we would need to add a convention such as this
We would have some sort of shot like this in our trailer to show our main character’s (Cat) transformation when she’s in the ally with Jack.

Research on Thriller

Fatal Attraction:

From this trailer we can clearly see action code of a knife, an enigma code of the cigarette, the acid on the car and the actual facial expression of the character Alex being an enigma code too; these are all conventional codes used in a typical Thriller film. Alex, the psychopath, is shown to be possessive of Dan as she says "No its not going to stop, its going to go on and on." from this dialogue we can see her obsession to be noticed. Throughout the trailer there is use of low-key lighting creating exaggerated shadows over the characters Dan and Alex as they are both guilty in the affair; these shadows connote lust, deception and evil.
The medium shot of Alex focusses on her cynical smile as she says "If you play fair with me, I'll play fair with you." with emphasises the whole affair being a game in her mind as she.
